Get to Know Me
My name is Dr. Sara Sanchez, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and EMDR therapist specializing in addiction, trauma, cultural issues, and dual diagnoses. I treat individuals of all ages and their families to restore a healthy and balanced lifestyle.
I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside, Master’s degree in Psychology at Chapman University, emphasizing in Marriage and Family Therapy, and Doctoral degree in Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
I have had extensive experience working at community-based mental health clinics, counseling a diverse group of individuals, couples, families, and children. I have also had the unique opportunity to work in residential and outpatient programs with both adolescents and adults.
I believe that building a strong therapeutic alliance is the foundation and one of the most important aspects of therapy. My goal is to promote a safe and comfortable environment for clients to work through their underlying issues and for a place for them to express themselves freely. Being involved in music throughout my life, I have found that integrating creativity and exploring one’s talents/strengths can be extremely beneficial for one’s growth.
